Statement of Faith

“As soon as it was night, the believers sent Paul and Silas away to Berea.(Beroya in Swahili) On arriving there, they went to the Jewish synagogue. Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.”  Acts 17:10-11

The beliefs we hold dear

We believe

  1. All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine for reproof, correction and for instruction to righteousness (2 Timothy 3:16, 1 Thessalonian 2:13, 2 Peter 1:21)
  2. In the absolute trinity of God .That is God the Father, God the Holy Spirit and God the Son. (1 John 5:7, Mathew 3:16-17, Mathew 28:19(b), Luke3:22)
    1. He is the creator of heaven and earth and everything.(Genesis 1:1-31, John 1:3,Isaiah 45:18)
    2. He is I Am.(Exodus 3:14)
  3. In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ.
    1. He is that son of God. (John 1:1-5, Luke 3:22, Mathew 3:16-17)
    2. He was born by a virgin (Mathew 1 :23, Luke 1:31-35)
    3. He was sinless.( Hebrews 7:26,1 Peter 2:22)
    4. His miracles .(Acts 2:22, 10:38)
    5. His substitutionary work on the cross.(2 Corinthians 15:3,Hebrews 7:27, Romans 4:25, 1 John 4:10)
    6. His bodily resurrection from the dead.(Mathew 28:6)
    7. His exaltation to the right hand of God the Father.(Acts 2:33, Romans 8:34)
  4. In the deity of the Holy Spirit.
    1. For they are three who bear witness in heaven and the three are the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. (1 John 5:7-8)
    2. He is a promise from Jesus Christ.(John 14:15-17, Luke 24:49)
  5. In the reality and personality of the devil.
    1. He is a fallen angel (Revelation 12:7-12, Isaiah 14:12-14, Luke 10:18).
    2. He is the deceiver (Revelation 12:9, Daniel 8:25, Genesis 3:1-4, John 8.44).
    3. He is the accuser of saints (Revelation 12:10,Zacharia 3:1-2,Job 2:1-6)
    4. He is the tempter (Mathew 4:3,1 Thessalonians 3:5,1 Corinthians 2:11,Luke 22 :31-34)
    5. He is defeated by the Blood of Christ and the testimony of the believers(Revelation 12:11)

The beliefs we hold dear

We believe

  1. The fall of man
    1. All men have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God (Romans 3:23)
    2. God created man in his own image but man sinned. (Genesis 1:26-27, 2:16-17, 3:6-19, Romans 6:23, Romans 5:12 -19)
  2. Salvation of man
    1. John 3:16-for God so loved the world that He gave His only son
    2. Salvation involved the substitutionary offering of Christ as a sacrifice.(John 1:29, Romans 5:9-10)
  3. The way of salvation.
    1. Believe that Jesus is Lord and was raised from the dead and confess with your mouth that He is Lord.

  5. Water Baptism by immersion of water.
    1. Baptism in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit(Mathew 28:19)
    2. By immersion as Jesus Christ was baptized (Mathew 3:13-17)
    3. The evidence of being born again (John 3:3-5)
    4. The purpose of baptism(Romans 6:3-4,Acts 8:37-39)
  6. Baptism in the Holy Spirit.
    1. As Jesus promised ( John 14:15-17, Acts 2:16-43)
    2. Manifestation and evidence of baptism in the Holy Spirit through speaking in tongues (Acts 2:4, Mark 16:17)
    3. He helps the people in the ministry giving all the power and help they require in their life and the service in ministry (1 Corinthians12:1-28, 1 Timothy 4:14)
    4. Fruits of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23)
    5. Gifts of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12)
  7. The church
    1. The church is the body of Christ as started by apostles after ascension of Jesus Christ.(Acts 2:42, Ephesians 1:22-23, Hebrews12:23)
    2. All born again Christians should of the congregation (Hebrew 10:25,1 Corinthians 12:27)
  8.  Sanctification
    1. Separation from evil and dedication to God (Romans 12:1-2, 1 Thessalonians 5:23, Hebrews 13:12, 1 Peter 1:15-16)

  2. The Lords table
    1. The Holy Communion consists of the unleavened bread in symbolism of the body of Christ and vine fruit drink symbolizing the blood of Christ (Luke 22:7-20, 1 Corinthians 11:24-34)
  3. The giving of the Lords tithes and offerings
    1. Types of offerings, (Malachi 3:10, 2 Corinthians 9:6-7)
      1. Tithes: 10% of every income of believer(Genesis 14:19-20, Malachi3:10,Leviticus 27:30-34,Luke 11:42,Hebrews 7:1-2)
      2. First fruits: The offering of the first fruits of the undertaking of a Christian that the Lord may bless the fruits of such undertaking (Leviticus 23:9-14,Deutronomy 26:2-4,Romans 11:16)
      3. Thanksgiving: an offering of pure thanksgiving otherwise referred to as the love offering. (Leviticus 22:29,1 Samuel 1:24-27,Johah 2:9)
      4. Normal offering: This is normal offering given regularly i.e. Sunday offering (Deuteronomy 16:16, Malachi 3:8,luke 21:1-4,1 Corinthians 16:2,2 Corinthians 9:6-12,mark 12:17,
      5. Special offering: offerings for building the church, propagating the ministry or special projects. This money can be offered willingly, allocated to the people or special vows as shown 2 kings 12:4 (Acts 2:45, 4:35-37, 2 Kings 12:4, 1 Chronicles 29:1-16).
  4. In church government. The obedience of those above us.(Exodus 18:13-22,Numbers 1:50, Matthew 10:1,Matthew 17:1,16:18-19,John 21:15,Acts 6:3, 15:1-7,15:22-23)
  5. In Christian modesty in matter of dressing(1 Peter 3:2-4,1 timothy 2:9-10,1 Corinthians 11:3-16, Deuteronomy 22:5)
  6. In observance of the Lord’s Day the Christian Sunday other Jewish Sabbath.
    1. The Christian Sunday is the first day of the week, the celebration of Jesus resurrection as the true rest. (Rev. 1:10, Matt 28:1, Mark 2:27-28, Mark 16: 2,9)
    2. The early church met on Sunday; First day of week (Acts 20:7, 1 Corinthians 16:1-2, John 20:19)
  7. The resurrection of those who died in Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:51-52, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, John 11:25),
  8. The reign of Christ for 1000 years together with the saints. (Rev 20:1-6, Daniel 7:9-10, Mathew 19:28, Luke 22:30)
  9. Final Judgment, This will happen after the 1000 year rule of Christ; (Matt 25:46, John 5:29, Rev 20:11-15, 21:8, Mathew 25:41, 2 Peter 2:4, Jude 1:6 )
